Behringer Truth Studio Monitors

Q) Shielding is crappy. I hear radio all the time. Is there anything I can do to improve this?

A) It’s not exactly the shielding. Some studios have troubles, some not. The problem is endemic to most powered monitors due to difficult ground, 120v ground loops and troublesome incorrect balanced cables and other situations between devices. It’s not the “shielding” although it could help to isolate and specifically shield the input module with FRI suppression and capacitor drops, which are crucial to reduce RFI. Also, lower resistance internal power supply ground to chassis to audio ground will help. Trust me, everyone complains: M-Audio, KRK, and sometimes Genelec too. I will charge a little but I can walk you through improved grounding techniques in studios, which is usually the culprit. The AC ground at speaker should be the same AC outlet at mixer, this is a must. AC ground of speaker should possibly be at wall socket. AC ground in house should be improved. Truth is problem may be RFI invasion at mixer but only demodulated at the next preamp (the Behringer). Simply put, if you were here with the product I could probably solve the problem. We do a Mod here in the shop for $88 per monitor that fixes these problems.
