Pioneer CTF-1250 and CFT-950 Cassette Tape Decks

(Repair)

Dec 7th, 2018

We have been supplying a substitute same motor it's just branded as Matsushita, who were the original maker (supplied with the pioneer name on it). Send a picture including the operating voltage and the direction of the main motor. (probably counter clock wise) The Motor for the inter idler drive will fit same but may run in FF or Rewind slightly faster or slower, but the deck will operate correctly. We have done this before but sold thru the available motors. A technician will be required to remove the existing pulleys and mount back onto the new motor shaft. This is done by use of hot solder iron on the axle, for maybe 30 seconds then slide the pulley off and push it onto our newly supplied motor at the same position and height. The hot glue will set up quickly. Sometimes a 12 motor will be supplied for a 9 volt motor but 2 diodes will be mounted onto the side to allow correct current drive. Simple replacement, just look carefully at your + and - terminals.

Be aware these machines also need to have drive idlers scrubbed or rejuvenated or replaced or have more spring tension set or pull in arms for idler. We use a special very tacky rubber rejuvenate here to make idler "stick and grab" well. That special compound is $4 for a one time application to idler rubber. This service will usually help with most aging (slightly cracked or glazed rubber). We do not have idlers in stock.
