The problem on these designs is the glass ferrite head cracks open of internal wire and head's surfaces can corrode! I can re-polish the head. It's a very special process that costs $88 plus return shipping. Head re-lapping will not work on these. Replacements of heads is extremely difficult to match spec, because the electronics are very special to the performance of record + play. It does not follow normal rules but it can work OK if unit is calibrated back to standard N. A. Nakamichi CR-1A motor BFA2L36

For model CR-1A and others. Highest quality Matsushita substitute motor (#MMI-6A9HK DC9V, CCW) with two diodes to convert to 12v operation. Simply put leads at diodes. Sorry but we recently sold the part. There's a lot of requests for this part and we may have another one available in the future. We have ways to fix or adapt another part. The cassette deck is getting old now and will have other issues, such as 2 of the mechanical cycling motors appear to be intermitant or non-functional. The aging of deck mechanism now requires a few modifications to make it reliable. We repair and update, calibrate and do modifications to make the machine reliable and seldom replace the motors. There's a service trick to accomplish this. Most people send the unit in. Right now, we have idler assemblies only for in shop service fixes. Typical repair is $200 and usually includes return shipping. Nakamichi did not make this complete machine. The transport is cybernet and is very good. But the installation of this transport is slightly incorrect and not sufficiently aligned in place to allow perfect calibration of head. We have been fixing this stuff for 30 years. #9 Condition

Infinity 10" woofer #776917

1k, 4ohms. Old style paper cone, sweep tested good. Very good #8 condition. The design of three way Q series speakers used various versions of woofers with different cone colors, but functioned the same. However the crossover designs can be different from cabinet to cabinet. As well as different variations of midrranges and EMIT tweeters. Worse yet the same part number can exist on the back of the magnet on these woofers yet be a different cone look, and have either foam or rubber surrounds. We often now substitute with a good 10” woofer that will work well and tune for deep bass. Additionally the crossover design often is not the same as the known published Infinity schematic. In almost all cases the crossover filter for the midrange driver should be updated with a sharper filter to reduce low/midrange frequencies from over-driving the midrange.
