For the sake of efficiency, we ask that prospective sellers have an idea of how much they would like to sell their gear for, before contacting us. This can be a range that you are comfortable with, a target price, and/or a minimum price. This way we can make sure we don't waste any of your time if you need to get more than we can pay.

eBay is a good starting point to determine price, as it's a broad marketplace that we often reference too. For the most accurate idea of a fair selling price, make sure you narrow down your search criteria to "Sold Listings" only.

However, we are a brick and mortar store based in one location, so the purchase prices we can offer differ due to customers' interest and the costs of doing business, and are usually less than eBay (which also deducts money from the seller for its own commissions) – though sometimes we can offer more for important or rare items!

Once you have a list of the items you'd like to sell - with the brand and model number, brief notes on the condition, and your target price - give us a call and we will ask some questions about your gear and possibly schedule a time for you to come bring it in. You can also send us an e-mail with your notes, and then call us (or include your contact information so we can call you) to discuss the details and make an appointment. Please don't bring anything in unless it's been scheduled beforehand. We are a small shop with very limited floor space, so we need to plan for incoming items.

After we see the equipment in person, we can give you a better idea of what we can pay. When you can provide a price range and we actually see the condition of the gear, we will make a fair offer based on our shop's re-saleability. In some cases, items may only have value for parts.

If you agree to go ahead with the sale, we will then give you a receipt and an agreed product value range, then your item(s) will be bench tested. We then will send you a check usually within two weeks. If a tech discovers something wrong with your unit that lowers its value, we will call you ASAP to determine the next step.

Please keep in mind that we can't purchase items on the spot – it's actually against the town bylaws.

There are two exceptions. One is if the item was purchased from us previously. We have a generous buy-back policy for products bought here at Audio Pro, especially for things we recommended. Also, if you are trading in items for other purchases, we will give your trade-in a little more value than if you were selling it outright, and we will also be able to speed up the transaction.

In order for us to resell equipment, it's crucial that we test, clean up, and warranty the product to the next purchaser. We have always been a green-thinking company, and recycling goods for parts or resale is now more important to us than ever. It's about doing our part to ensure a high quality of life for the Earth and its residents, and also showing respect for the technology and engineering put into quality goods, which we believe should be reused whenever possible, instead of needlessly discarded.
